Refrigerant R-11 – 13.6 kg Cylinder

Product Description

Refrigerant R-11 (Trichlorofluoromethane, CCl₃F) is a chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) refrigerant widely known for its role in centrifugal chillers, industrial processes, and foam insulation production. It is a low-pressure, non-flammable refrigerant valued for its stability and efficiency in older HVAC systems.

In addition to refrigeration use, R-11 has also been employed as a solvent and cleaning agent for pipes, heat exchangers, and industrial equipment, thanks to its excellent solvency properties.

Due to its high Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP), R-11 has been phased out under the Montreal Protocol, but it is still required for servicing legacy systems and in some controlled industrial applications.

Our 13.6 kg cylinders are suitable for authorized and specialized use, while we strongly recommend considering modern eco-friendly alternatives such as R-123 or R-1233zd(E) for long-term solutions.

Key Features

  • CFC refrigerant: Trichlorofluoromethane (R-11)

  • Dual purpose: refrigerant for legacy chillers + solvent/cleaning agent

  • Non-flammable and chemically stable

  • Highly effective for low-pressure centrifugal chillers

  • Supplied in 13.6 kg disposable cylinders

Applications

  • Legacy centrifugal chillers (HVAC)

  • Foam insulation production (historical use)

  • Pipe & equipment cleaning / flushing solvent

  • Specialized industrial processes where legally permitted

Safety & Handling

  • ⚠️ Warning: R-11 is a CFC with significant ozone depletion potential.

  • Use only for legacy systems or approved industrial applications.

  • Ensure well-ventilated environments when handling.

  • Avoid inhalation of vapors – risk of dizziness or suffocation.

  • Do not release into the atmosphere. Dispose of cylinders responsibly.
